Requirements
Must:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Four years of experience in installation and maintenance of computer systems and network servers, network interfaces and associated equipment, digital/analog signal processing, communications equipment, TCP/IP, hubs, routers, bridges, and firewalls, as well as Microsoft and UNIX/LINUX administration
- Experience in MIS databases and software development, modification, and installation
- Proficiency with Microsoft desktop products
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Formal training equivalent to Navy C School or vocational education in electronic equipment maintenance
- Approved Microsoft Operations training
- UNIX/LINUX networking administration training
- DOD network security training
- Valid state Drivers License
- Certification in cybersecurity as required
- Obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance
Responsibilities
- Provide operations and maintenance support for computer information services and data processing systems
- Ensure the operation and maintenance of all computer information services
- Maintain and repair PC workstations and laptops, including software applications
- Perform software maintenance, upgrades, and installation of new applications
- Debug and conduct system checks
- Monitor data communications networks to guarantee availability for all users
- Address data communications issues as they arise
- Assist in automating report generation
- Detect malfunctions in LAN/WAN hardware or software
- Input diagnostic commands to identify issues
- Consult technical manuals to understand problems
- Instruct users on using LAN/WAN services and resolution methods
- Document LAN/WAN issues and resolutions taken
- Update records for new equipment and configuration changes
- Install communication lines and establish system accounts
- Attend staff meetings to discuss and resolve recurring data communication issues
- Implement necessary system maintenance and modifications
- Review user procedures for data transmission accuracy
- Facilitate user training on data entry and compilation
- Collaborate with team members and Government to set standard configurations
- Create and manage user accounts following guidelines
- Protect the integrity and security of the network directory structure
- Build and manage vendor relationships for network product purchases
- Maintain the integrity of network directory services
- Ensure proper backup and restoration processes
- Develop and provide training programs for end users and management
- Identify and execute enhancements to LAN/WAN, while keeping the supervisor informed of progress
- Complete maintenance actions in IEMS as required
