Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field - Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as an application developer, proficient in Java and JavaScript - Familiarity with software development tools and practices; capable of delivering software products that meet requirements - Experience in leading development activities, monitoring quality, and guiding tool selection - Technical knowledge of software products, including design, configuration, and integration aspects - Proven ability in executing functional, performance, and load testing; documenting results and addressing any discrepancies - Proficient in effective communication techniques and concepts - Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills, able to analyze situations and make informed decisions - Demonstrated leadership in medium to large-scale projects affecting strategic goals - Experience with CI/CD tools like Azure Dev Ops and GitHub actions - Background in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, backend engineers, and designers - Comfort working within an Agile framework, ideally Scrum - Extensive experience with AWS public clouds for software deployment and maintenance - Experience creating clear specifications for AI tools to guide code generation - Understanding of data structures, schemas, and metadata - Ability to thrive in fast-paced, culturally diverse environments - Knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols recognized by Caterpillar - Significant experience in developing secure and scalable applications using Java 21 or higher and Spring Boot framework - Skilled in front-end development with tools like JavaScript ES6, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JSX - Proficient with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular - Experience with AWS components like AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, AWS SNS, AWS Kinesis, AWS RDS, and AWS DynamoDB - Proven ability to connect React or Angular front ends to Java back-ends via RESTful APIs

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and implement a modern, cloud-based Global Warranty Management solution - Take charge of new feature development and maintenance for a complex application - Work independently on intricate application and technical issues without close supervision - Identify and resolve complex technical problems, including handling off-shift and weekend support calls - Contribute to application development focused on delivering valuable business features - Mentor and guide junior software engineers, providing necessary technical assistance - Establish high standards for software quality within the team through effective practices - Design, test, and refine prompts and system instructions for large language models to enhance warranty workflows - Encourage areas for improvement and growth within the team - Communicate with end users and internal stakeholders to guide development, debugging, and testing processes - Conduct integrated testing and customer acceptance testing to ensure quality and timely results - Perform additional job duties as assigned by management from time to time
