Requirements
Must:
- A BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field is preferred. Equivalent work experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
- Must possess a Secret level or higher clearance or be able to obtain one.
- At least 3 years of experience in systems administration supporting enterprise IT environments.
- Security+ CE certification or the ability to obtain it within 3-6 months.
- Must achieve CWF status with administrative capabilities.
- Experience managing both Windows Server and Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewall policies).
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently to ensure cybersecurity compliance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems in development, integration, testing, and production environments.
- Conduct system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure high system availability.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and group policies across enterprise systems.
- Manage server patching, updates, and system lifecycle maintenance, including vulnerability management and continuous monitoring.
- Support virtualized environments such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
- Oversee storage allocation, system backups, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Maintain documentation, architecture diagrams, and configuration baselines for systems.
- Facilitate the integration of systems into secure Navy networks and enclaves.
- Collaborate with developers, cybersecurity personnel, and engineers to support application hosting environments.
- Assist with infrastructure support for DevSecOps pipelines and containerized environments where applicable.
- Offer technical recommendations for system enhancements, modernization, and performance optimization.
- Ensure compliance by maintaining certifications relevant to the lab environment.
