Requirements
Must:
- Active Secret Clearance at time of start
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting IT systems and/or system administration functions
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in configuring and managing Linux operating systems
- Experience in system software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Background working in environments requiring documentation control and cybersecurity compliance
- Familiarity with Government lab environments and documentation requirements (preferred)
- Awareness of cybersecurity requirements and system hardening strategies for controlled environments (preferred)
- Technical degree in IT, engineering, computer science, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Configure, administer, and manage Windows and Linux operating systems in Government development and test lab environments
- Support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and version control of system software, tools, and necessary applications
- Establish, maintain, and document hardware and software configuration baselines for lab systems
- Assist in software configuration management (SCM) and configuration tracking for development and test environments
- Contribute to configuration planning and management activities to enhance visibility and control of lab hardware and software assets
- Maintain configuration documentation in alignment with Government lab, program, and cybersecurity standards
- Aid compliance efforts that align with Government cybersecurity policies and operational standards
- Troubleshoot both operating system-level and system-level issues, coordinating resolutions with Government and contractor teams
- Engage in technical meetings and collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
- Contribute to lab documentation, inventory management, and formal reporting documents as required

This role involves overseeing the configuration, administration, and technical management of Windows and Linux operating systems, along with related hardware and software. We focus on enhancing visibility, control, and software management for mission-critical lab systems. Youll have the opportunity to directly support essential systems for national security missions at our client site located at Joint Base MDL, with a unique work structure that promotes work-life balance—four 9-hour days and an 8-hour day every other week, providing a long weekend regularly.
