Senior Information Security Engineer

- Lead daily cybersecurity operations for the Town, ensuring effective monitoring, detection, and response activities. - Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the Information Security team to foster a high-performing environment. - Serve as incident response lead and act as incident commander during cybersecurity events as needed. - Participate in on-call rotations and manage after-hours security incidents impacting Town systems. - Coordinate cybersecurity response efforts for vital services such as Police, Fire, and other life-safety systems. - Ensure adherence to CJIS security requirements and assist with audits and corrective actions. - Manage security technologies, including SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and cloud security tools. - Conduct security investigations and forensics in collaboration with IT, public safety, legal, and executive teams. - Review and apply security controls as directed by the CISO. - Offer architectural insights for technology initiatives to integrate security within Town systems. - Develop and enhance operational security procedures and documentation. - Design, implement, and review network security measures to safeguard enterprise and public safety systems. - Manage identity and access controls, including multi-factor authentication and single sign-on mechanisms. - Examine and approve firewall rules and access policies to align with security standards and operational needs. - Conduct security simulations and exercises to evaluate response effectiveness. - Represent information security in cross-departmental technical meetings and project initiatives. - Support emergency operations, including participation in the Emergency Operations Center during declared incidents. - Oversee cybersecurity operations for industrial control systems and operational technology, coordinating with essential departments.
