Requirements
Must:
- I require candidates to have 5–8 years of relevant experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related STEM field.
- An active DoD TS/SCI clearance is mandatory from the start.
- I expect proficiency with the RHEL OS command line for navigation, file management, and permissions.
- Candidates should demonstrate expertise in Matlab, including script development, troubleshooting, and the use of CVS for revision control.
- Familiarity with IBM DOORS for requirements management, including baselines and change tracking, is essential.
- An ability to derive and develop technical requirements from original source requirements and CONOPS is necessary.
- I expect knowledge of Cameo Systems Modeler (or similar MBSE tools) and DoDAF.
- Experience in technical writing (reports, briefings, plans, procedures, diagrams) is also important.
- An intermediate to advanced understanding of the Systems Engineering V” is required.
Responsibilities
- You will participate in cross-functional team meetings, such as weekly program flow downs, program management status updates, and daily technical scrums.
- Collaborating with Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads, you will interface with program leadership to ensure all system specification requirements are met.
- You will take the lead in developing and maintaining Systems Engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation for reliable and repeatable execution.
- Your role will involve balancing responsibilities between micro-level tasks and macro-level projects.
- You will review program plans, procedures, reports, drawings, and other documentation to ensure completeness and quality.
- Assigning tasks to team members while overseeing accountability will be part of your duties.
- Evaluating and onboarding new team members to meet program needs will also be expected.
- Your work will include developing, verifying, and validating system, subsystem, and component-level requirements, tracking verification statuses and artifacts.
- You will collaborate with Integration and Test IPTs to ensure JTAGS systems are both built and tested per requirements.
- Supporting design changes from minor fixes to major capability upgrades will be part of your tasks.
- You will execute system and software performance analyses using Matlab-based tools to extract data and compute performance measures.
- Tracking problem/deficiency reports will be your responsibility, along with leading root cause investigations and corrective action initiatives.
- You will apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using Cameo or similar tools to document architecture and system interfaces.
- Collaborating with the Chief Engineer, Chief Architect, CM/DM Lead, and other IPTs will help maintain complete and accurate system baseline documentation.
- Mentoring and providing guidance to junior engineers will be part of your role.
- You will identify and manage potential risks and opportunities that could impact schedule, budget, or technical performance.
- Assisting in proposal development, including the creation of the basis of estimates and statement of work for systems engineering activities, will be their responsibility.
- I expect you to develop and maintain strong working relationships with U.S. Space Force customers.
- Evaluating new processes, tools, and capabilities to enhance the execution of JTAGS systems engineering activities will also be necessary.
