Requirements
Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or related technical field.
- I have 3-5+ years of professional software development experience.
- I possess advanced proficiency in Java and Object-Oriented Design/Programming.
- I am skilled in RESTful web services development.
- I have experience with at least one messaging/streaming platform, such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, GraphQL, NATS, SSEs, or WebSockets.
- I am familiar with multiple database types including SQL, NoSQL, GeoSpatial, and Key/Object pair.
- I have experience in back-end application architecture and design.
- I possess strong communication skills and I am capable of collaborating in team settings.
- I am a U.S. Citizen and I have the ability to obtain a final Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- I will support the sustainment and modernization of the Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J), the DoD’s C2 system of record.
- I will design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable, and high-performance back-end applications to support situational awareness, infrastructure, and intelligence product areas.
- I will write and maintain RESTful web services and integrate these with streaming/messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, and others.
- I will architect and manage a variety of database solutions (SQL, NoSQL, GeoSpatial, Key/Object pair) to support dynamic, data-driven applications.
- I will collaborate with teams spread across different geographic locations to ensure the delivery of resilient solutions on time and within budget.
- I will conduct independent technical investigations, provide expert advice, and assist the Government in integrating GCCS-J functionality into new baselines.
- I will follow Agile development processes throughout the full lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and sustainment.
- I will ensure compliance with DoD security standards, coding best practices, and performance requirements.
Description
- It is preferred that I have experience with Spring Boot microservices development, familiarity with build tools (Maven, Gradle, Jenkins), and hands-on experience with IDEs like VSCode, Eclipse, or NetBeans. - I should have knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, and modern development practices, and experience with automated testing tools such as JUnit, Jest, Robot, and Selenium. - Exposure to Linux/Windows system administration, Docker, OCI containers, and orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Helm would be beneficial. - Familiarity with C2 Systems, DoD STIGs, secure coding standards, SonarQube, and Fortify is a plus, as well as knowledge of networking, debugging, and performance testing techniques. - My experience with databases, design, and structures will be important, as will my understanding of Agile methodologies and my ability to collaborate using the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket). - I should be able to apply mathematics and statistics to software algorithms and possess a background in military intelligence, imagery, or strategic planning. - An active Top-Secret clearance is strongly preferred. - If you feel this aligns with your skills and experience, we encourage you to apply today and contribute to the modernization of Joint Command and Control for U.S. and allied warfighters. - Who is Caribou Thunder? - We are a premier Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) defense contractor that supports mission-critical programs across the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community.
