Requirements
Must:
- Must be able to work in-office in St. Peters, MO, 5 days a week (this position is fully on-site).
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
- Over 4 years of experience as a SQL Server Data Engineer.
- Profound knowledge of SQL, database architecture, and normalization principles.
- Strong grasp of Database Engine internals such as buffer pools, parallel processing, execution plans, and indexing.
- At least 2 years of experience in creating, managing, and monitoring data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
- Positive demeanor with a keen willingness to learn and excel.
- Experience with C#, .NET, and/or Python programming languages.
- At least 2 years of experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
Responsibilities
- Design new databases and enhance existing structures, including writing SQL queries and Transact-SQL (T-SQL) stored procedures.
- Troubleshoot incoming issues by developing and implementing effective solutions.
- Optimize the performance of slow queries through rewriting, indexing, and improving database design.
- Collaborate closely with Software Engineers and Data Scientists to enhance data flow from collection to reporting.
- Collect requirements from stakeholders when necessary and ensure proper documentation and implementation.
- Maintain an optimistic and proactive attitude while striving for continuous improvement.
- Monitor our databases and take corrective action in the event of system failures.
- Acquire new skills relevant to your role.
