Senior Platform Engineer - Network Infrastructure

- Design, implement, and enhance WAN, Backbone, Carrier hotel, and Cloud connectivity for optimal WAN operations. - Test, evaluate, and perform necessary corrective measures to restore network equipment and services swiftly to minimize application disruptions. - Plan and guide the high-level and low-level design of WAN network modifications, ensuring infrastructure compliance with current standards while scaling to meet business requirements. - Serve as the highest escalation point for Network engineering issues, conducting Proof of Concepts and Chaos testing, while maintaining support documentation. - Collaborate with architects, operations, and security teams to ensure network availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, and compliance with industry standards. - Deploy 10G/100G Ciena dark-fiber rings, Point-to-Point circuits, Wave Circuits, DIA, and AWS & GCP cloud connections. - Create scripts to support and maintain the WAN infrastructure. - Participate in a weekly 24/7 on-call rotation to provide network infrastructure support and assist with off-hours change deployments. - Utilize automation, system tools, open-source resources, observability metrics, and security first methodologies in daily operations. - Design Network Architecture diagrams using tools like Visio and Lucid Charts. - Deliver project presentations to enhance the skills of the operations team, employing Cisco Modeling Labs, VIRL, GNS3, etc. - Propose high-level solution designs and guide the team to fulfill essential software delivery capabilities using automated and observability-focused solutions. - Investigate cutting-edge technologies and solutions to address business challenges and advocate for their production deployment.
