Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with at least 6 years of experience in AI and ML algorithm development, or a Masters degree in the same fields with at least 4 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership role
- 3 years of experience managing and guiding an engineering team preferred
- 6 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or similar private cloud environments preferred
- Proficiency in developing AI and ML algorithms using programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang
- Strong communication and presentation skills to convey intricate AI concepts clearly to colleagues
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that transform associate workflows and customer interactions with Capital One
- Supervise the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software components, encompassing foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability
- Make informed decisions regarding build-vs-buy considerations across a wide array of open-source and SaaS AI technologies
- Innovate and implement cutting-edge LLM optimization techniques to enhance performance, scalability, cost-efficiency, latency, and throughput of large-scale production AI systems
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems at Capital One
- Attract and maintain exceptional talent in the AI field, fostering personal and professional growth within your team and promoting a culture of continuous learning
