Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus a minimum of 6 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Masters degree in the same fields plus at least 4 years of related experience
- Minimum of 6 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
- 7 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or private cloud)
- Experience in the design, development, integration, delivery, and support of complex AI systems
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Expertise in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g., LLM Inference, Similarity Search and VectorDBs, Guardrails, Memory) using programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang
- Proficient in developing and utilizing state-of-the-art techniques for optimizing training and inference software to enhance hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost
- Strong desire to stay updated on the latest AI research and systems, while applying novel techniques within production
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex AI concepts clearly to peers
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-driven products that transform the way our associates operate and how customers engage with Capital One
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability
- Utilize a wide range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies, such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, and more
- Innovate and implement cutting-edge LLM optimization techniques to enhance the performance, scalability, cost, latency, and throughput of large-scale production AI systems
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term strategy for foundational AI systems at Capital One
