Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines, along with a minimum of 6 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Masters degree in the same areas with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of programming experience with languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
- 7 years of experience implementing scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud).
- Proven experience in designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and maintaining complex AI systems.
- Demonstrable leadership in mentoring engineering teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience in developing AI and ML algorithms using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
- Proficient in developing and applying cutting-edge techniques for enhancing training and inference software to optimize hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
- Strong enthusiasm for keeping up with the latest research in AI and applying innovative techniques in production settings.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate intricate AI concepts to colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to build AI-driven products that transform how our associates operate and how our customers engage with Capital One.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software components including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, model guardrails, evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Utilize a broad range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies, including AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, and more.
- Create and implement state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to enhance performance metrics such as scalability, cost, latency, and throughput of large-scale AI systems in production.
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term strategy for foundational AI systems at Capital One.
