Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum of 9 years experience in leading technical strategy for large-scale engineering organizations, demonstrating measurable improvements in developer productivity or delivery metrics
- At least 5 years of experience with modern infrastructure and software delivery patterns to architect and enhance efficient developer experiences
- Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
- Over 3 years of experience in leading cross-functional platform adoption for more than 1,000 engineers by aligning stakeholders across various business units (preferred)
- Proven experience in building technical consensus and promoting tool adoption across independent engineering teams (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Shape the architectural vision for a delivery experience that simplifies complexity
- Drive the establishment of clear pathways that empower teams to progress swiftly without needing extensive infrastructure expertise
- Collaborate with Developer Experience teams across the organization to guarantee our delivery platforms support their initiatives
- Define standards for software flow from commit to production, enhancing developer speed while ensuring necessary safety and quality measures are met
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the organization, advising on the adoption of industry standards versus bespoke solutions
- Ensure our technical designs provide measurable business value
- Build core components that teams rely on to validate architectural choices
- Contribute directly to the creation of patterns and platforms that shape our delivery experience
- Mentor senior engineers and cultivate a culture of high-quality code and operational excellence
- Attract exceptional talent to Capital One and nurture the next generation of technical leaders
