Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar fields with a minimum of 6 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Masters degree in the same fields with at least 4 years of experience in AI and ML development.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership role.
- At least 3 years of managing and guiding an engineering team.
- 6 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent).
- Experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g., LLM Inference, Similarity Search and VectorDBs, Guardrails, Memory) using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
- Strong passion for keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI research and applying novel techniques effectively in production.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex AI concepts clearly to colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that enhance our associates workflows and improve customer interactions.
- Supervise the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software solutions including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, model governance, and observability.
- Make informed decisions regarding the build or buy of various Open Source and SaaS AI technologies, such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and more.
- Develop and implement advanced LLM optimization techniques to enhance the performance — scalability, cost, latency, throughput — of large-scale production AI systems.
- Contribute to the strategic technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems at Capital One.
- Recruit and retain top talents in the AI sector while nurturing individual growth for your team.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and staying informed about cutting-edge developments in AI.
