Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus at least 6 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Masters degree in a related field plus at least 4 years of experience in the same
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership role
- 3 years of experience managing and guiding an engineering team (preferred)
- 6 years of experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.)
- Proficient in developing AI and ML algorithms using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the capability to explain complex AI concepts clearly to colleagues
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team including engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that enhance our services
- Supervise the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of AI software components such as foundation model training and large language model inference
- Make informed build-vs-buy decisions across a diverse array of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
- Innovate and implement state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to enhance the performance of extensive production AI systems
- Contribute to the strategic vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One
- Attract and retain exceptional talent within the AI field while promoting personal and professional growth for your team
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning and advancements in AI technology
