Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus a minimum of 3 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Masters degree in a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
- At least 4 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud) is preferred.
- Experience in developing, delivering, and supporting AI services is advantageous.
- Proficiency in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, such as LLM Inference, Similarity Search, Guardrails, and Memory, using programming languages like Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art techniques for enhancing training and inference software performance, including improvements in hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that enhance our associates work and customers interactions with Capital One.
- Design, construct, test, launch, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Utilize a wide range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies, such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch.
- Develop and apply innovative LLM optimization techniques to enhance the scalability, cost-effectiveness, latency, and throughput of large-scale production AI systems.
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term strategy of foundational AI systems at Capital One.
