Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines plus a minimum of 6 years of experience in AI and ML algorithm development
- Masters degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields, along with at least 4 years of experience in AI and ML algorithm development
- At least 6 years of experience programming in languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java
- 7 years of experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud)
- Experience in designing, developing, integrating, and supporting complex AI systems
- Proven capability to lead and mentor engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Proficiency in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g. LLM Inference, Similarity Search and VectorDBs, Guardrails, Memory) using languages like Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang
- Experience in optimizing training and inference software for improved hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost
- A passion for staying informed about the latest AI research, with a knack for applying new techniques in production
- Strong communication and presentation abilities to convey complex AI concepts effectively
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-driven products that transform user interactions with Capital One
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, and governance
- Utilize a wide range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and PyTorch
- Innovate and implement cutting-edge LLM optimization techniques to enhance the performance of large-scale production AI systems in terms of scalability, cost, latency, and throughput
- Contribute to the long-term vision and roadmap for foundational AI systems at Capital One
