Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields along with a minimum of 6 years of experience in AI and ML algorithm development or a Masters degree with at least 4 years of experience in the same domain.
- A minimum of 6 years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
- 7 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or similar private cloud).
- Experienced in designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting intricate AI systems.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and influence stakeholders across various functions.
- Familiarity with developing AI and ML algorithms (e.g., LLM Inference, Similarity Search and VectorDBs, Guardrails, Memory) using programming languages like Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
- Skilled in utilizing state-of-the-art techniques to enhance training and inference software for improved hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
- Strong commitment to staying updated with the latest AI research and systems, and applying innovative techniques in production.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, enabling the clear articulation of complex AI concepts to peers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that improve associate workflows and customer interactions with Capital One.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Utilize a comprehensive array of open-source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, and more.
- Innovate and implement advanced optimization techniques for large-scale production AI systems to enhance performance, scalability, cost-effectiveness, latency, and throughput.
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term strategy of foundational AI systems at Capital One.
