Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with at least 6 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Masters degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 6 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
- 7 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud)
- Experience in designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Proficient in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g., LLM Inference, Similarity Search and VectorDBs, Guardrails, Memory) with Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang
- Experience in optimizing training and inference software for improved hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost
- Passion for keeping up with the latest AI research and judiciously applying novel techniques in production
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate complex AI concepts to peers
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that enhance our associates workflows and customer interactions
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability
- Utilize a wide range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch
- Innovate and implement cutting-edge LLM optimization techniques to enhance performance metrics including scalability, cost, latency, and throughput of large-scale production AI systems
- Contribute to the strategic vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems at Capital One
