Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines with a minimum of 6 years of experience in AI and ML development, or a Masters degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience
- At least 6 years of proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java
- 7 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or similar)
- Experience in designing, developing, and supporting complex AI systems
- Demonstrated capability to lead and mentor an engineering team while influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience in developing AI technologies such as LLM Inference, Similarity Search, VectorDBs, and Guardrails using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang
- Background in applying cutting-edge techniques to optimize software for training and inference, enhancing hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost
- Enthusiasm for staying updated on the latest AI research and adeptly applying innovative techniques in production
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with an ability to clarify complex AI concepts to peers
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-powered products that transform associates workflows and customer interactions with Capital One
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability
- Utilize a diverse stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies, such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch
- Innovate and implement advanced LLM optimization techniques to enhance the scalability, cost-effectiveness, latency, and throughput of large-scale production AI systems
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term strategy for foundational AI systems at Capital One
