Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus at least 4 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Masters degree in the same fields plus at least 2 years of experience in this area.
- Minimum of 4 years programming experience using Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
- 6 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud) is preferred.
- Experience in designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining AI services.
- Proficiency in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g. LLM Inference, Similarity Search and VectorDBs, Guardrails, Memory) using programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
- Familiarity with optimizing training and inference software to enhance hardware utilization, reduce latency, increase throughput, and lessen costs.
- Enthusiasm for remaining updated on the latest AI research and effectively applying innovative techniques in production environments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that transform both employee functions and customer interactions with Capital One.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software components including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Utilize a wide range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, among others.
- Innovate and implement cutting-edge LLM optimization methods to enhance the efficiency - scalability, cost-effectiveness, latency, throughput - of large-scale AI production systems.
- Contribute to the technical strategy and long-term planning for foundational AI systems at Capital One.
