Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or relevant fields plus a minimum of 4 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Masters degree in a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- At least 4 years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java
- 6 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or comparable private cloud) (preferred)
- Experience in designing, developing, and supporting AI services (preferred)
- Experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies (e.g., LLM Inference, Similarity Search and VectorDBs, Guardrails, Memory) with Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang (preferred)
- Experience in optimizing training and inference software for improved hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and costs (preferred)
- Strong interest in AI research and the ability to apply novel techniques in production environments (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with a diverse team of engineers, researchers, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products that innovate how our associates work and how customers engage with Capital One.
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Utilize a comprehensive range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies, including AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, and others.
- Develop and introduce cutting-edge LLM optimization methods to enhance the performance of large-scale production AI systems in terms of scalability, cost, latency, and throughput.
- Contribute to the technical vision and strategic roadmap for foundational AI systems at Capital One.
