Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields, with a minimum of 8 years experience in AI and ML development, or a Masters degree with at least 6 years of experience in similar roles.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership position.
- 5 years of experience managing an engineering team is preferred.
- 7 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or private cloud alternatives.
- Proficiency in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang is advantageous.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, particularly in conveying complex AI concepts effectively.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-driven products that enhance both our associates tasks and our customers experiences with Capital One.
- Supervise the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of AI software components, including foundation model training and large language model inference.
- Evaluate and make strategic decisions on whether to build or buy solutions across a range of AI technologies, including Open Source and SaaS offerings.
- Innovate and implement advanced techniques for large-scale optimization of AI systems, focusing on performance improvements across scalability, cost, latency, and throughput.
- Contribute to the long-term technical vision and roadmap for foundational AI systems at Capital One.
- Attract, retain, and develop top talent within the AI sector, fostering an environment of learning and professional growth on your team.
