Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with a minimum of 8 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms, or a Masters degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
- Proven track record of deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud).
- Experience in architecting, designing, developing, integrating, and supporting complex AI systems.
- Demonstrated capability to lead and mentor engineering teams and engage with cross-functional stakeholders up to the VP level.
- Proficiency in developing and applying advanced techniques for optimizing training and inference software to enhance hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to convey complex AI concepts to peers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to develop AI-driven products that transform associate workflows and enhance customer interactions with Capital One.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software components including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Utilize a broad array of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, and more.
- Invent and implement cutting-edge LLM optimization techniques to enhance the performance, scalability, cost-efficiency, latency, and throughput of large-scale production AI systems.
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.
