Requirements

Must:
- 8–12 years of experience with IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IZWS) and legacy schedulers such as CA-7 - Strong expertise in JCL and fundamental mainframe utilities - Familiarity with Dynamic Workload Console (DWC) and Workload Designer - Ability to develop and manage scheduling resources utilizing WAPL (Workload Automation Programming Language) - Profound knowledge of job scheduling, dependencies, and resource management in mainframe environments - Proficient in analyzing and interpreting scheduler logs and reports for troubleshooting and optimization - Proven background in transitioning from other scheduling tools (such as CA-7, Control-M, TWS) to IZWS - Experience with scripting or automation tools commonly utilized in scheduling contexts - Understanding of workload automation best practices for enterprise-level mainframe systems

Responsibilities

- Lead the migration of batch workload definitions while using parallel tracking to ensure precision and reduce disruptions - Collaborate inclusively with application schedulers and cross-functional teams to address scheduling issues and dependencies - Assist during the development-to-production migration phases, ensuring compliance and readiness for operations - Execute the cleanup of legacy schedules before migration to streamline operations - Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions for development and operations teams to encourage skill enhancement and confidence - Analyze scheduler logs (RLOG, JLOG, TLOG) to detect patterns, identify irregularities, and propose proactive measures - Establish resolution logic for scheduling challenges, including resource conflicts and job dependency issues
