Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in electric distribution, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management position
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Valid drivers license
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities
- Proven leadership skills in developing and supporting others
- Capacity to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Strong knowledge of electric distribution system design and planning
- Familiarity with system mapping and engineering design tools
- Understanding of AMI and metering systems
- Knowledge of substations and associated electrical infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering design and construction planning activities
- Develop and oversee construction budgets and work plans in line with RUS standards
- Supervise inspections, ensure GIS accuracy, and maintain work order quality and timeliness
- Collaborate with Operations and other departments to enhance system reliability and member service
- Mentor, train, and develop engineering staff while reinforcing safety and cooperative values
- Be prepared for potential overnight travel and 24/7 availability as needed
