Requirements

Must:
- I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - I have over 5 years of experience in computer programming or a similar industry, or a combination of education and experience that is equivalent. - I possess knowledge and experience with C, C++, Labview, Python, or similar programming languages. - I am familiar with Bash, Make, CMake, and Git. - I have a background in development for the Linux operating system. - I am comfortable working with Atlassian tools (Jira & Confluence). - I can read wiring diagrams and/or mechanical drawings. - I have experience or capability with electro-mechanical systems. - I possess experience with logic controllers or similar programmable computer devices/resources. - I have experience in structured programming, controls, data acquisition, and/or jet engine testing. - I hold a valid Driver’s License and a valid Passport. - I am a US Person eligible to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

- I will architect, design, and implement software tools and systems to maintain and enhance the Linux-based Data Acquisition and Control System (DACS) utilized in jet engine testing, ensuring smooth integration with new hardware and boosting system functionality. - I will identify, diagnose, and resolve performance issues and functional challenges within the DACS environment, continuously enhancing the software's overall reliability and efficiency. - I will collaborate closely with other software engineers, hardware engineers, and engineering leadership to develop and deliver new features for the DACS, ensuring effective system interfaces with various instrumentation, measurement equipment, and other test facility hardware. - I will provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, guiding best practices in software development, architecture, and troubleshooting. - I will develop and implement software solutions on Linux to connect and communicate with modern measurement hardware, ensuring compatibility and enhancing testing capabilities. - I will maintain comprehensive documentation covering the software architecture, design patterns, and system configurations while enforcing coding, testing, and software deployment best practices.
