Requirements
Must:
- Proven expertise in technical writing; samples are mandatory.
- Highly organized with strong ability to manage schedules and adhere to deadlines independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Capacity to perform key job functions effectively with minimal oversight, applying sound judgment and prioritizing tasks autonomously.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the adeptness to juggle multiple processes simultaneously.
- Excellent skills in writing, typing, and proofreading.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and methodologies, or Six Sigma certification is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Technical Writing experience.
- Bachelors Degree in Technical Writing or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Masters Degree in Technical Writing or relevant discipline is preferred.
- Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours or weekends to meet project needs.
- Must obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship or naturalization is required.
- Possession of a valid U.S. Drivers License is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Execute technical writing tasks for instrumentation at the Ronald Reagan Test Site (RTS).
- Revise documentation as dictated by schedules or requests from the field.
- Employ SharePoint to gather, oversee, and manipulate RTS Sensor and system data during the collection, review, approval, and distribution processes.
- Sustain the SharePoint site for information storage and dissemination to field teams.
- Draft new technical documents and edit existing ones to ensure precision and compliance with configuration standards.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders in producing contractually obligated documents, reports, and manuals relevant to range instrumentation.
- Ensure deliverable timelines are met; proactively seek information from field personnel.
- Apply standard concepts and practices accurately in assigned tasks.
- Engage in cross-training with the Configuration Management (CM) Analyst to master Engineering Change Proposal/Project, Study, and Tasks (ECP/PST) processes for backup purposes.
