Requirements
Must:
- Over 5 years of practical SAP Basis experience in complex global settings.
- Proven leadership in SAP operations across diverse environments (BTP, RISE, on-premises).
- Strong capability in managing multi-vendor and offshore teams.
- Solid understanding of SAP lifecycle management, performance optimization, security, and integrations.
- Experience working within Agile/SAFe delivery frameworks.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills across teams.
- Background in regulated sectors (e.g., Pharma/GxP).
- Comprehensive knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and industry best practices.
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Responsibilities
- Define the technical strategy and roadmap for SAP Basis services within the ERP Platform & Applications sector.
- Ensure alignment with SAP best practices, clean-core principles, and upgrade-safe designs across the enterprise.
- Integrate SAP Activate phases with Agile/SAFe activities, including PI Planning, backlog refinement, and sprint execution.
- Direct and oversee the Managed Service Provider (MSP) Basis team handling daily SAP technical operations.
- Manage the administration of SAP systems across various landscapes (development, test, production), focusing on performance, stability, and capacity planning.
- Ensure consistent system operations for SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, RISE, and associated components.
- Plan and oversee system installations, migrations, upgrades, and refreshes in partnership with MSPs and infrastructure teams.
- Guarantee that SAP landscapes are up-to-date and aligned with enterprise architecture and business strategies.
- Supervise proactive monitoring of SAP systems, databases, and interfaces to ensure peak performance.
- Lead root cause analyses and foster continuous improvement for recurring or complex technical challenges.
- Collaborate with SAP Security and cybersecurity teams to implement system hardening, cybersecurity updates, and best-practice security measures.
- Ensure adherence to audits, regulations, and GxP standards.
- Manage disaster recovery planning, testing, and response procedures.
- Oversee the patch and release cycle, including monthly maintenance schedules.
- Confirm all changes comply with the ITSM framework, including comprehensive documentation, approvals, and risk assessments.
- Work with enterprise and solution architects to design scalable, efficient, and cost-effective SAP technical landscapes.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and environment optimization.
- Oversee SAP technical services provided by multiple vendors, including offshore MSPs.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with finance, operations, governance, compliance, and project teams.
- Contribute to the SAP platform backlog, ensuring that technical requirements and enablers are documented, prioritized, and addressed.
- Assist in PI Planning by providing insights on platform readiness, dependencies, constraints, and potential risks.
- Advocate for continuous improvement and DevOps practices within SAP operations.
