Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or an equivalent field
- Over 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in execution systems, operational technology, IT, and operations
- In-depth knowledge of process automation, MES, and batch manufacturing industry standards (ISA S88 & S95)
- Proven track record in designing, building, deploying, and managing automation and execution systems (SCADA, DCS, MES, PAT, LIMS, Digital Methods, OSI Pi Data historian, etc.) in regulated large-scale manufacturing
- Experience operating site-based shop floor and laboratory systems in a globally distributed setting is highly desirable
- Recognized ability to influence industry practices through publications and presentations preferred
- Experience building and leading high-performing, innovative, and transformative process automation and execution systems across a global organization
- Demonstrated capability to convey complex information clearly and effectively at all organizational levels
- Skill in mentoring and developing cohesive teams
- Familiarity with Process Excellence methodology is a plus but not mandatory
- Adaptability to work across diverse cultures and countries
- Experience managing leaders, employees, and cross-functional project teams
- Strong project management experience within biopharma manufacturing
- Comprehensive understanding of cGMPs and operational processes in FDA-regulated environments

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a global operational technology strategy and roadmap for manufacturing and QC systems, ensuring alignment with I&T and business objectives
- Promote a paperless and data-integrated execution aligned with ISA-88/95 and Pharma 4.0 principles
- Prioritize operational technology initiatives to enhance productivity, compliance, and reliability in manufacturing
- Communicate the operational technology strategy, value realization, and progress to executive and site leadership
- Oversee the lifecycle management of Enterprise GxP manufacturing and laboratory operational technology platforms, including OSI Pi, LIMS, and MES
- Ensure platforms comply with operational and performance standards across all global sites
- Drive standardization and modernization of operational technology platforms, facilitating site integrations
- Lead governance frameworks for operational technology, establishing global standards for configuration, data, and cybersecurity
- Ensure compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and digital validation best practices in operational technology environments
- Manage Tier 1 project delivery for manufacturing and QC digital platforms
- Oversee Tier 2/3 site projects to ensure alignment with global operational technology standards and cybersecurity protocols
- Handle readiness, commissioning, and support for introduced operational technology systems
- Direct the global operational technology organization, fostering innovation and setting best practices
- Build capabilities, talent pipelines, and competency frameworks within the team
- Manage operational technology budgets and resource allocation to optimize enterprise value
- Cultivate an inclusive and equitable work environment emphasizing core values
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with automation and lab system platform providers
- Coordinate with integrator partners to align supplier roadmaps with operational technology strategies
- Facilitate collaboration among I&T, Operations, Technical Operations, Quality, and Data Analytics, maintaining ownership of the operational technology domain
- Represent operational technology in enterprise risk and digital transformation discussions
- Identify and pilot emerging technologies in operational technology, translating pilot initiatives into scalable solutions
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement across the operational technology ecosystem
