Requirements

Must:
- We require at least 4 years of experience in consulting and cybersecurity, with 5+ years often preferred in IT security or cybersecurity consulting within Department of Defense contract or compliance environments. - We look for strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and careful attention to detail. - We need someone who can clearly explain complex cybersecurity topics to varied audiences and present technical information in a concise, accessible way. - We expect strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders. - We require CMMC-RP (Registered Practitioner) certification. - We prefer CMMC Assessor (CCA) or Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) certification. - We prefer familiarity with NIST 800-171 and NIST 800-172, as well as CUI security requirements and Security+ or an equivalent credential. - We prefer an active Secret clearance or higher. - We require the ability to commute to Hartford, CT 06103 and relocate before starting, if needed.

Responsibilities

- We conduct current-state cybersecurity and compliance assessments for CMMC readiness. - We analyze compliance gaps and develop remediation plans to close identified weaknesses. - We create, tailor, and deliver policies, procedures, and supporting documentation aligned with CMMC and NIST 800-171/800-172. - We build practical roadmaps for achieving CMMC Levels 1 through 4, including self-assessments, third-party reviews, and government-led evaluations. - We lead technical implementation of security controls, ongoing monitoring, and incident reporting requirements such as 72-hour notifications. - We provide training and awareness sessions to help clients understand and implement CMMC requirements. - We collaborate with internal teams and client representatives to strengthen cybersecurity maturity and stay aligned with changing regulations. - We take part in information security risk reviews, compliance audits, and related assessment activities. - We track Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) to manage and resolve compliance deficiencies.
