Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in developing and supporting production software systems
- Proficient in API and system integration
- Strong knowledge in relational database design and performance-aware querying
- Experience with AI tools used as a primary development workflow
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders
- Proven experience acting as an AI champion within a team setting
- Ability to create AI-enabled tools or workflows for defining problems upstream
- Positive and constructive approach to communication
Nice to Have:
- Experience in building or maintaining production systems with PHP using modern frameworks (e.g., CakePHP, Laravel, Symfony)
- Familiarity with using AI for understanding or modernizing legacy codebases
- Knowledge of CI/CD or improvements in delivery pipelines
- Salesforce development experience
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify and transform ambiguous business or operational challenges into actionable tasks using AI-assisted methodologies
- Utilize AI tools (such as Copilot, Claude, Cursor) as the main development workflow for tasks like implementation, refactoring, debugging, testing, and documentation
- Develop and promote a practical engineering workflow enhanced by AI, ensuring that code reviews, security, and maintainability adhere to production standards
- Set team guidelines for AI utilization, clarifying when to apply AI, what elements require verification, what needs human oversight, and how to document intentions, constraints, and decisions
- Review and refine AI-generated outputs to ensure they align with production standards focused on maintainability, performance, security, and the long-term health of systems
- Design and upkeep APIs and integration points for connecting internal systems with external partners, aimed at minimizing manual workflow interruptions
- Engage in both front-end experiences and back-end services to enhance overall functionality
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at modernizing and gradually improving legacy systems through AI-driven analysis
- Serve as an advocate for AI-enhanced delivery, demonstrating responsible AI practices and sharing best practices
- Foster a supportive and collaborative environment, aiding stakeholders in articulating their thoughts clearly without introducing friction
