Requirements
Must:
- In-depth practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure, and proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes for managing complex distributed systems.
- Solid foundations in Linux/Unix along with the capability to write effective scripts. Mid-level development skills in Java or Python and experience with data management systems such as Oracle, Postgres, or BigQuery.
- Comprehensive understanding of SRE principles, particularly in defining and defending SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to ensure system reliability.
- Proficient in utilizing observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana for transforming metrics into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with workload automation tools (UC4/Automic) and contemporary CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo, JIRA, and Git.
- A proactive approach to resolving complex problems and the ability to effectively communicate your vision across global teams.
- A Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development and platform teams to facilitate smooth application migrations and maintenance within Google Cloud Platform.
- Design and implement advanced frameworks to ensure operational fault tolerance, capacity planning, and system self-healing capabilities.
- Actively minimize manual tasks by fostering a culture of automation, enhancing environment setups, and refining the software development process.
- Uphold high-availability standards across both on-premise and cloud environments, serving as a key responder during on-call rotations and leading post-incident analysis reviews.
- Engage with application teams during the design phase to ensure non-functional requirements such as security, maintainability, and efficiency are integrated from the outset.
