Requirements
Must:
- A strong educational foundation with a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud technologies, ideally with hands-on experience in deploying and managing applications using IaaS and PaaS services from major cloud providers, particularly Google Cloud Services.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages including Java, Python, Bash, or Go; familiarity with Typescript and/or Rust is a significant advantage.
- Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as GKE, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Chef.
- Demonstrated skills in reliability engineering with a comprehensive understanding of SRE and security best practices, alongside a history of implementing them effectively in workflows.
- Expertise in automation, CI/CD processes, orchestration, and configuration management.
- Knowledge of observability tools and logging platforms such as OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.
- A strong emphasis on security, including a deep understanding of compliance frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with proficiency in conveying complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration capabilities as an agile team player, highly self-motivated, and capable of managing several tasks concurrently with minimal supervision.
- Passionate about continual learning and staying abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of resilient infrastructure across our clearing systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability and performance.
- Develop innovative solutions to maintain the availability and efficiency of our CME clearing and risk systems, where every millisecond matters.
- Drive automation and continuous enhancements throughout the system lifecycle, aiming to minimize manual interventions and improve operational standards.
- Embed SRE principles within the software development lifecycle to ensure reliability from conception.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver expert guidance for the deployment and upkeep of essential applications.
- Spearhead initiatives to prevent incidents, streamline operational procedures, and automate solutions on a global scale.
- Promote awareness and adoption of observability and performance testing practices, cultivating a culture of building with an SRE mindset.
- Oversee the operational integrity of products comprehensively, appreciating and contributing to the larger organizational context.
