Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a technical field or 7+ years of professional experience in Windows Systems Engineering at an enterprise level.
- Mastery of Windows Server (2016-2022) administration, including WinRM, Kerberos authentication, NTFS permissions, and Registry-level tuning.
- Proven experience deploying and operating enterprise applications on major cloud services (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure).
- Advanced understanding of Terraform module development, including versioning and state management.
- Proficiency in PowerShell for operational automation and tool development.
- In-depth knowledge of Git, Source Control Management (SCM), and collaborative pull request workflows.
- Experience with Secrets Management (Vault), Identity Management (SAML/SSO), and compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Packer and PowerShell for image lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Design and sustain scalable Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions on Google Cloud Platform, focusing on highly available Windows Server clusters and workloads.
- Develop and manage reusable PowerShell modules and frameworks to automate complex administrative tasks and ensure environment health checks and self-healing infrastructure.
- Lead the security hardening of Windows images by employing CIS Benchmarks or STIGs, integrating compliance into the automated build process.
- Oversee the development and lifecycle management of the Windows image pipeline for our Google Compute Engine platform.
- Administer and automate Windows identity services, including Active Directory and Group Policy Object (GPO) design in a cloud environment.
- Use Packer and PowerShell to automate the creation, updating, and distribution of secure Windows machine images across various Google Cloud Platform projects.
- Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of Windows Internals, analyzing memory dumps, CPU spikes, and I/O bottlenecks to enhance system performance.
- Ensure code quality by governing Git workflows for infrastructure code, adhering to best practices (including Pester testing, error handling, and documentation).
- Implement secrets management and manage identities through SAML/SSO to ensure platform security.
- Enhance system reliability, observability, and performance by proactively engineering solutions and resolving issues.
- Collaborate and mentor cross-functional teams, including developers, networking specialists, and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), to gather requirements and manage deliverables.
