Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or Information Technology
- Alternatively, an Associates degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with five years of relevant experience
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience in IT security, cybersecurity operations, network security, or a similar field
- Valid class C California drivers license
- Desirable certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), CompTIA Security+, and Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security policies and strategies to safeguard the departments information assets
- Monitor and evaluate existing security measures and identify areas for improvement
- Respond to and manage security incidents and breaches as they occur
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with security governance standards
- Collaborate with IT team members to enhance overall network and system security
- Exercise independent judgment while performing security-related tasks and making decisions
