Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPC or CPC-H certification (CPC preferred over CPC-H)
- ICD-10 Certification, with credentials to be maintained
- Proficient in computer skills and data entry
- Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, HCPC, and CPT-4 classification systems
- Minimum of one year of experience as a certified coder in a physician practice setting
- In lieu of one year, must have certified CPC status for at least 6 months and a minimum of 3 years of actual abstract coding experience

- Maintain a high-quality clinical database for patients
- Assign precise diagnosis and procedure codes for all discharged inpatient and outpatient records
- Review E&M levels selected by physicians monthly and provide constructive feedback to improve accuracy
- Participate in an internal coding assessment within the first three months of employment
