Requirements

Must:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in AI development and deployment, particularly with Generative AI and Conversational AI. - Extensive practical experience with AWS Bedrock, focusing on the deployment and integration of various Foundation Models (FMs). - Proven ability in utilizing AWS Q for code generation, analysis, and integration within development workflows, particularly pertaining to AI applications. - Comprehensive understanding of diverse Generative AI models (text, image, etc.) and techniques in Conversational AI (dialogue management, intent recognition, entity extraction). - Demonstrated skill in evaluating and selecting AI models and conversational AI platforms based on specific needs and performance metrics. - Strong experience with AWS AI/ML services (e.g., SageMaker, Comprehend, Translate, Polly, Lex) and their application in Generative and Conversational AI solutions. - Solid grasp of prompt engineering techniques to elicit desired outputs from Large Language Models (LLMs) and to design effective chatbot interactions. - Experience in fine-tuning pre-trained models and customizing conversational AI agents for specific tasks and domains is highly desirable. - Preferred experience in crafting and deploying AI chatbots or conversational agents using platforms like Amazon Lex, Dialogflow, Rasa, or similar. - Familiarity with School Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and education technology frameworks, including data structures and integration methods, is a significant advantage. - Proficiency in API development (RESTful, GraphQL), automation workflows, and event-driven architectures. - Extensive experience with cloud-native development and deployment on AWS, incorporating serverless technologies (AWS Lambda). - Excellent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and the capacity to translate educational needs into effective AI and conversational solutions. - Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, educators, and administrators. - Understanding of data privacy, security best practices, and compliance standards (e.g., FERPA) related to AI and chatbot applications. - Experience with MLOps practices for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining AI models and conversational agents in operational environments.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and implement Generative and Conversational AI solutions, leveraging AWS Bedrock, AWS Q, and related AWS services to integrate with school systems (SIS, LMS, student data platforms, and assessment tools). - Engineer and execute integrations with standard SIS & LMS platforms (e.g., PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Blackbaud, Canvas, Moodle, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams for Education) to facilitate AI-driven enhancements and intelligent conversational interfaces. - Create robust middleware, APIs, and automation scripts to ensure seamless communication and data flow between AI models, conversational agents, and educational infrastructure. - Develop, deploy, and manage secure and scalable RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs to enable real-time interactions with AI services and chatbot functionalities. - Design and implement efficient data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using AWS services (e.g., Glue, Step Functions) to prepare and deliver data for AI processing and integration, as well as to train conversational AI agents. - Create and implement AI-powered features such as intelligent content generation, automated summarization, personalized learning recommendations, advanced data analysis, predictive insights, and intelligent chatbots for student support and administrative assistance using AWS Bedrock models and conversational AI platforms. - Utilize AWS Q to streamline development tasks, encompassing code generation, debugging, and adherence to AWS best practices, especially in the context of building AI conversational interfaces. - Establish and oversee knowledge bases and retrieval augmented generation (RAG) systems using AWS Bedrock capabilities to enhance the accuracy and relevance of AI responses and chatbot interactions. - Design and develop engaging and effective conversational flows for AI chatbots, prioritizing user experience best practices. - Ensure secure and compliant data management in all AI and chatbot applications, aligning with FERPA and other relevant regulations. - Implement strong authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT) for AI and chatbot integrations within the AWS ecosystem. - Collaborate intensively with AI/ML engineers and data scientists to evaluate model performance, fine-tune models, enhance AI pipelines, and improve the utility of conversational agents. - Partner with DevOps teams to deploy and monitor AI applications and chatbots on AWS, employing serverless functions (AWS Lambda) and event-driven architectures (AWS EventBridge). - Engage with educators and administrators to understand their requirements, identify AI-driven innovation opportunities, including intelligent chatbots, and translate those into technical specifications. - Produce comprehensive documentation for AI solutions and chatbots, covering architecture diagrams, API specifications, conversational flow designs, and deployment instructions. - Stay informed about the latest advances in AI, particularly within the AWS ecosystem and the realm of Conversational AI, and proactively recommend new tools and methodologies.
