Requirements

Must:
- Strong technical expertise in distributed control systems (DCS), safety instrumented systems (SIS), and programmable logic controllers (PLC) - Practical knowledge of operating and maintaining safety instrumented systems per IEC61511 - Familiarity with alarm management software and ability to implement alarm management philosophy - Understanding of routine DCS maintenance tasks, including backup methods and online hardware replacements - Experience with high availability server installations in hypervisor and KVM environments - Ability to enhance complex control schemes across various controllers - Skill in translating technical documentation into functional DCS configurations - Academic degree, certifications, or licenses preferred - Over 8 years of relevant experience in a chemical or manufacturing plant preferred - Previous experience as an I&E technician is a plus - Experience with Yokogawa or Emerson Delta V control system programming is advantageous

Responsibilities

- Lead the implementation of overall control systems from the design phase to commissioning at the new Blue Point site - Participate in kick-off, design review, and pre-inspection meetings at vendors locations - Review and analyze functional design specifications and hardware/software documentation - Provide technical guidance to control system vendors in software development including control loops and graphics layouts - Collaborate closely with Process engineers, I&E engineers, and Operations representatives to ensure control and safety functions are effectively implemented - Travel domestically and internationally for factory and module yard acceptance testing of DCS, SIS, and PLC systems - Manage site acceptance testing of DCS, SIS, and PLC systems, including loop checks and functional testing - Assist the IT team in integrating site control systems with other business systems - Identify and troubleshoot issues within control systems throughout all project phases - Engage in plant startup, commissioning, and turnover processes - Work with key stakeholders to create site procedures related to control systems - Write, modify, and implement complex process control logic using proprietary control system language and industry-standard protocols
