Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- 3-5 years of quality assurance/testing experience with at least 2 years focused on Tricentis Tosca
- Demonstrated expertise in data testing, ETL validation, or data warehouse testing
- Practical experience in testing data integration projects
- Competence in Tosca Commander, Tosca Executor, and test case design
- Familiarity with Tosca modules, including TBox, XScan, API testing, and database testing
- Strong SQL skills with the capability to formulate complex queries for data validation, including joins, aggregations, CTEs, and stored procedures
- Proficient with database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
- Knowledge of ETL concepts and data warehouse architecture, including star schema and dimensional modeling
- Understanding of data profiling and comparison techniques
- Exposure to version control systems such as Git or SVN
- Strong grasp of quality assurance methodologies and the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, TestRail, qTest, or HP ALM
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments
- Experience in API testing, including REST and SOAP
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and the integration of test automation
Responsibilities
- Design and create automated test cases using Tricentis Tosca to validate data pipelines and ETL workflows, ensuring comprehensive testing across integration, regression, and smoke scenarios
- Develop and sustain reusable test components, modules, and libraries within the Tosca framework to facilitate scalable and repeatable testing endeavors
- Execute both automated and manual testing scenarios to guarantee data accuracy across source and target systems, including the structured verification of transformations and business rules
- Construct and execute complex SQL queries to confirm data completeness, consistency, and integrity across various databases and environments
- Conduct thorough validation of ETL processes, including testing aggregations, joins, and transformations within enterprise data workflows
- Ensure the validity of data loads into data warehouses, data lakes, and reporting systems in line with expected outputs and business specifications
- Engage in data reconciliation activities across systems to recognize discrepancies and uphold consistency between upstream and downstream data sources
- Assist in testing data migration projects to ensure no data loss and confirm the accuracy of transferred datasets
- Collaborate with business analysts and data engineers to comprehend data needs, define testing scenarios, and confirm adequate test coverage
- Take part in requirements reviews and give feedback regarding testability, data dependencies, and potential risks within data workflows
- Formulate and maintain test plans, strategies, and execution timelines aligned with project schedules and deliverables
- Log, track, and manage defects with tools like JIRA or HP ALM, providing detailed documentation with reproduction steps and SQL validation evidence
- Engage in defect triage sessions, collaborating with development teams to identify root causes and validate solutions
- Generate test reports, dashboards, and metrics to relay testing progress and data quality results to stakeholders
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating with business users and ensuring alignment between technical validation and business needs
- Maintain version control of testing assets utilizing tools such as Git or SVN, ensuring governance and traceability of testing documentation
- Integrate testing methodologies into CI/CD pipelines to uphold continuous testing and automated validation within deployment processes
