Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field with IT experience
- Solid understanding of various EDI file formats (835, 837, 210)
- Over 5 years of experience in EDI and claims processing
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex technical issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Database knowledge
Preferred:
- Experience in the health industry
- Familiarity with IBM Websphere (WTX)
- Proficiency in Database/SQL
Responsibilities
- Review and refresh all documentation linked to claims processing and EDI transactions
- Identify and document previously unrecorded claims processing and EDI procedures
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the development team during the overhaul of IDOHs ACAPS system in .Net
- Act as a bridge between the OTC team and the Childrens program area regarding claims processing challenges
- Collaborate closely with both technical and functional teams to align business requirements with project objectives, agency regulations, and state and federal policies
- Draft technical specifications that reflect conceptual designs and articulated business needs
- Conduct testing on new and existing systems to ensure functionality and correctness
- Guarantee accurate and effective file exchanges with external partners while resolving any EDI data transmission issues
- Provide helpdesk-level support for EDI claim transactions, including onboarding new healthcare providers and clearinghouses
- Work autonomously while collaborating with ISDH external partners as needed
