Requirements
Must:
- Proven ability to simplify complex information into clear, concise text.
- Excellent writing and grammar skills, with the capacity to work independently and deliver precise content under tight deadlines.
- Bachelors Degree and 7 years of relevant experience (or equivalent), with at least five years in a technical or lead writing role.
- Demonstrated experience in creating developer-focused documentation and collaborating directly with development teams.
- Proficient in utilizing multiple tools to create base templates and adjust output styles.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), Information Technology (IT) environments, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and related key terms.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- (Desired) Expertise in transitioning documentation to an automated process.
Responsibilities
- Create and write diverse user documents, including how-to guides, reference material, manuals, cheat sheets, and instructions.
- Convey scientific and technical concepts in straightforward language.
- Collaborate with clients to convert their functional needs into detailed technical specifications.
- Provide documentation support for the engineering team related to system components and engineering artifacts.
- Lead technical writing tasks and act as the primary liaison to the government for contract coordination and task execution.
- Oversee all technical documentation for the program, including materials produced by other technical writers.
- Draft and refine technical documentation for all project hardware and software, including installation and configuration materials.
- Produce code documentation for software; develop implementation guides and end-user manuals; provide documentation for field data, definitions, and flows, utilizing technical drawings and consultations with experts.
- Prepare, review, and maintain technical documents related to software and systems engineering, operations, testing, and user guides.
- Distill complex information into succinct, easy-to-understand text.
- Apply writing and grammar expertise to deliver accurate documentation promptly.
