Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 4 years of general technical writing experience
- At least 1 year of mentoring and collaborating with teams to enforce documentation standards
- Minimum of 2 years reviewing existing documentation against standards and documenting gaps
- At least 1 year of experience focusing on ADA WCAG 2.1 AA compliant projects
- Minimum of 1 year utilizing ADA tools related to technical writing (e.g. Microsoft accessibility checker, Adobe accessibility checker)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
Responsibilities
- Review and update documents and web content to ensure ADA WCAG 2.1 AA compliance
- Work alongside the MDARD Bureau Services Manager to monitor progress and set priorities
- Train program staff on best practices for documentation and compliance
- Collaborate with the web administrator, web team, forms analyst, and Digital Accessibility Review Team (DART)
- Develop and maintain user and technical documentation for various applications
- Create online source documentation as needed
- Oversee documentation libraries and subscription lists management
- Identify, revise, and maintain documentation templates and materials
- Ensure consistency in terminology and messaging across all written documents
- Provide regular status updates and manage time effectively on work activities
- Research and respond to documentation service requests
