Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in a technology-related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
- Over 8 years of experience in design and development
- Strong proficiency with database technologies such as Snowflake and Oracle
- Experience in Object-Oriented Software development using Java and/or Python
- Hands-on experience with Spark (Java or Scala) and familiarity with AWS EMR as execution infrastructure is advantageous
- Proficient in Cloud technologies (AWS), including Docker and EKS
- Experience in building scalable ETL solutions, Business Intelligence, Databases, or Data Lakes like Snowflake with expertise in SQL
- Strong analytical and design skills for extensive data platforms
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Maven, Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, Docker, Artifactory, etc.)
- Experience working in an agile scrum development environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong collaboration skills to work across various teams
- Financial Services industry experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a team focused on engineering excellence within Fidelity Brokerage Technology
- Design and develop high-quality, cost-effective software solutions that meet business requirements in an agile environment
- Engage actively in application design and collaborate with team members for software delivery
- Utilize software engineering practices, including code and design reviews
- Develop monitoring and alerting tools to detect failures or performance issues
- Provide guidance and motivation to fellow engineers
- Work independently while effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities
- Foster collaboration with business and technology groups, presenting in various settings
- Adapt to evolving environments by making informed decisions based on experience and analysis
