Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least five (5) years of experience in network engineering
- Experience in telecommunications engineering is preferred, but not mandatory
- Current CCNA and/or CCDA certification is required; CCNP is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols such as IPsec, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, and QoS
- Comprehensive understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models
- Proven hands-on experience in network engineering
- Familiarity with network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytics tools
- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Self-driven with the capability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage router configurations within the network, ensuring compliance with established change management protocols for documentation and approval
- Develop and execute gradual automation of network deployment and configuration processes
- Maintain expertise across all network infrastructure, including associated hardware, software, and interconnected devices
- Implement, update, and manage firewall rules on relevant network devices
- Collaborate with the security team to select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures
- Keep precise documentation of daily operations, repairs, upgrades, configuration changes, alarm reporting, E-911 systems, and other related records
- Design, configure, and maintain intricate switching/routing environments with a solid understanding of dynamic routing protocols
- Assist in the installation, activation, testing, and certification of new equipment for network expansion, including network facilities, switches, routers, and core transport equipment
- Support the implementation of enterprise software; contribute to process flows that promote system integration and reduce manual cross-referencing
- Logically and physically separate network infrastructure among different business entities and/or segments to ensure data security and regulatory compliance, while optimizing performance and maintaining operational independence
- Aid in FTTH network design and equipment implementation
- Establish and execute network connectivity to new LTE/5G sites and new aggregation points of presence to cater to cellular network backhaul requirements
- Coordinate with the Network Operations Center (NOC) regarding network performance issues to ensure timely resolution
- Establish and perform IP subnet design and BGP design and provisioning
- Diagnose issues with network hardware and software applications to address operational problems and restore services
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution for network services
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization trends, and capacity planning
- Engage in professional development activities to stay current with technical knowledge and industry developments
- Execute duties with an emphasis on operational efficiency, cost management, and revenue protection
- Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned
