Requirements
Must:
- 8–12+ years of professional web development experience
- Extensive knowledge of WordPress internals, including custom themes and plugins
- High proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Experience with REST APIs, third-party integrations, and data flows
- Familiarity with Git, staging environments, and modern deployment workflows
- Strong understanding of performance optimization, security, and technical SEO
- Experience implementing analytics and troubleshooting tracking issues
- Ability to balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain WordPress as a production-grade platform
- Develop clean, accessible, and responsive interfaces using modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Create reusable components and block patterns for scalable growth
- Ensure a consistent user experience across various devices and browsers
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to optimize aesthetics and conversion rates
- Maintain and develop custom themes and plugins without relying on page builders
- Design and manage custom post types, taxonomies, and fields
- Extend WordPress through REST APIs, webhooks, and various integrations
- Optimize Core Web Vitals, caching strategies, and database performance
- Implement best practices for security, permissions, monitoring, and backups
- Manage hosting, staging, deployment processes, and monitor performance
- Implement and maintain analytics tools and troubleshoot tracking accuracy
- Ensure data integrity throughout user journeys and intake funnels
- Collaborate with SEO and paid media to align technical choices with business objectives
- Evaluate tools and plugins critically to support long-term stability
- Anticipate growth challenges and design scalable systems
