Must:
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in data modeling, specifically focusing on PowerBI or SSAS. You should possess advanced knowledge of AQL, DAX, and M Query, and familiarity with semantic layer platforms is highly desirable. A solid understanding of database design principles, data warehousing concepts, and ETL/ELT processes is essential. Experience with cloud environments like Azure is preferred. We value strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment. Demonstrated critical thinking skills are crucial. Advanced experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is also required.
Responsibilities
As our Senior Data Modeler, you will be responsible for designing and implementing semantic models utilizing PowerBI and transitioning SSAS models to PowerBI. You will build models while collaborating with various data platforms, predominantly Databricks and SQL Server. Enhancing model and query performance will be part of your role, and you’ll partner with data engineers to design tables for optimal performance. Documenting data models, mappings, and business rules using Alation and other tooling is a key duty. You will work with stakeholders to elicit requirements and mentor junior data modelers and data engineers in the appropriate use of BI tooling. Providing leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff will be part of your contribution. You'll also be responsible for QA/QC adherence, compliance with company and site safety policies, and performing other assigned duties while adhering to all policies and standards.
Description
This is a full-time, contract position with a pay rate of $60.00 - $70.00 per hour. We offer benefits including dental, health, and vision insurance. The schedule consists of an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, with no nights or weekends required. We encourage applications from individuals with at least 3 years of experience in data modeling. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Kansas City, MO 64114 before starting work. This role is an in-person position.
