Requirements

Must:
- I have 5-6 years of professional experience working as a hands-on coding Data Scientist. - I possess 3-4 years of experience specifically building Marketing Mix Models (MMM) and Marketing Attribution Models. - I hold a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field. - I have mastery of SQL and am proficient in programming with Python. - I am skilled in causal modeling principles (DAG design, key design assumptions, falsification), regression modeling (panel, time series, ridge), Bayesian modeling (e.g., PyMC), frameworks for marketing mix modeling (PyMC, Meridian, Robyn), and ensemble methods (Gradient Boosting, XGBoost). - I am comfortable working with large datasets and adept at writing complex SQL queries. - I have a proven track record of collaborating with marketing and business leaders to influence essential marketing decisions. - I am highly adaptable, curious, and capable of working independently on challenging problems. - I demonstrate a bias for action and can deliver exceptional results through effective task prioritization and time management. - I have experience with cloud-based AI platforms.

Responsibilities

- I will work closely with data science leadership, machine learning engineering, and business partners/product owners to create optimization and machine learning models using top-notch tools and technologies. - I will provide data science leadership within a product team by fostering strong partnerships, delivering actionable insights, and making strategic and tactical technical roadmap recommendations. - I will develop, validate, and maintain robust causal measurement strategies to assess the effectiveness of various marketing channels, including Marketing Mix Models (MMM), Difference in Differences, Regression Discontinuity, and causal ML. - I will conduct thorough statistical and econometric analyses to evaluate marketing effectiveness, forecast the impacts of future marketing initiatives, and recommend optimal budget allocation strategies. - I will translate complex model insights and findings into clear, actionable recommendations for campaign planning, budget allocation, and marketing strategy, addressing a range of stakeholders including marketing, finance, and senior leadership. - I will design and execute statistically proven A/B Testing (“Test & Measurement”) for marketing campaigns. - I will advise business partners on technical solutions and serve as a senior contributor within the data science leadership team, shaping technical strategy, best practices, and team development. - I will mentor junior data scientists on key technical and domain topics through solution reviews and guidance. - I will monitor and improve model performance metrics related to accuracy and optimal recommendations, incorporating feedback from business partners. - I will actively engage with the team, collaborate, ask questions and seek feedback from fellow Data Scientists. - Alongside project work, I will participate in strategic planning and the definition of technical standards and modeling documentation.

This role is a 6-month contract with the potential for extension and allows for remote work, with possible travel of up to 25%. We are a Fortune 500 client in the consumer packaged goods and food sector. In this position, I will focus on developing and implementing advanced analytics, machine learning models, and optimization engines that drive strategic business decisions in marketing, consumer insight, and product development. I will collaborate with product owners and other Data Scientists to define technical problem statements and hypotheses for testing, as well as creating efficient and accurate analytical models that reflect business decision-making. We offer a competitive compensation range of $90.00 - $115.00 per hour with expected working hours of 40 per week. Benefits include dental, health, and vision insurance.
