- I require 3–4+ years of experience leading or mentoring backend engineering teams.
- I expect strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and modern build tools (Maven, Gradle), with the capability to establish architecture and coding standards.
- I look for hands-on experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs, which includes schema design, resolver development, and performance enhancement.
- I value a proven record of constructing and managing experience layers that unify multiple data sources while sustaining efficient, secure, and scalable backend logic.
- Practical knowledge in deploying and managing applications on Microsoft Azure, specifically using Function Apps and Key Vault, is essential.
- Exceptional communication and documentation abilities are a must, alongside the skill to translate intricate technical subjects to cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in Agile or Kanban environments, with a focus on collaboration and mentorship, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- I will have you lead and mentor a team of six backend engineers, promoting a culture of teamwork, technical excellence, and accountability.
- Your role includes contributing directly to backend development efforts by creating, optimizing, and maintaining the APIs and services that enhance mobile experiences.
- You are expected to define and maintain engineering best practices, coding standards, and scalable architecture patterns.
- I need you to spearhead the design and implementation of GraphQL APIs to boost flexibility, performance, and data delivery across mobile and backend systems.
- Collaborating with Mobile Leads and Product stakeholders will be key in translating business objectives into technical tasks, designing efficient GraphQL schemas, and guiding the team through implementation.
- I will need you to document architectural decisions, API contracts, and development workflows in Confluence to ensure consistency and maintainability.
- You will partner with infrastructure and vendor teams to refine deployment and release processes, supporting a dependable CI/CD pipeline.
- A continuous improvement focus on backend performance by optimizing data flows, minimizing network traffic, and enhancing the efficiency of integrations across various systems and databases is essential.

You’ll work closely with mobile, product, and infrastructure teams to set the technical direction, drive innovation, and establish robust engineering standards across a rapidly expanding mobile ecosystem.
