Requirements

Must:
• Computer science, software development, engineering knowledge and experience. The candidate should be able to code proficiently and actively participate in development projects. • Experience in and understanding of software development methodologies and processes, like agile and scrum. • Ability to manage product roadmaps. In collaboration with product managers focused more on the “what and why” of what goes on the product roadmap, the technical product manager will be focused on the implementation and how. • Ability to interact with customers. The technical product manager may interface directly with customers, working with them as a technical point of contact on custom projects. • An understanding of APIs. How a product can communicate with other software is key for the success of the product—having knowledge of the inner workings of APIs is key. • Strong cross-collaborative skills. This role will serve as a connection point between product management, software development, and customer success / support.
Nice to have:
• Prior experience as both an engineer and technical product manager. • Experience in or understanding of K12 education, particularly Special Education, is a huge plus.

This role will serve as a connection point between product management, software development, and customer success / support. • Programming experience in C#, C++, Java or equivalent object-oriented programming language • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Python • Experience with SQL, as well as using SQL-based queries from within programming languages • Experience with Xamarin mobile application development (preferred) • Experience with Selenium web scraping (preferred) • Experience with ASP.NET MVC Framework (preferred) • Familiarity with Azure or other PaaS (preferred) • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git • Friendly, approachable, and the ability to build rapport with all levels in an organization • Strong communication skills; Proactive and self-motivated • Knack for juggling multiple priorities • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic startup environment • Willingness to learn and take on other responsibilities as they arise

The Technical Product Manager / Software Engineer will cover two sets of responsibilities: 1) ongoing software development projects and 2) technical product management tasks such as: backlog management, writing user stories, roadmap management, and integration scoping.
